This is an extra-wide (53¼") door made for a customer in Michigan. After the door was installed, the owner reported that some people were evidently so fond of it that they drove by her home every evening to look at it! And when her guests pose for pictures, guess where they stand! In front of her door, of course! The owner says that many people exclaimed, "I've never seen such a beautiful door before! Who made it?"

The trees are 3-dimensional (not flat), and are carved by hand to gracefully blend from the door slab into the window area. Upon request, the trees can be stained green at no extra charge. The stained glass window shown is optional. Besides stained glass, we also offer etched glass windows that can reproduce any image. Just submit the picture to us, and we will do the rest!

This is a close-up of the window area of the door shown above. The stained glass window shows two majestic snow-capped mountains in the background, and rolling hills in the foreground. If you order a stained glass window for your door, virtually any design can be reproduced. We can work from a sketch or photograph submitted by you, or we can suggest other designs. For an especially dramatic effect, the window can be illuminated by a proprietary technique so that the window appears to always (or whenever you wish) have sunlight streaming through it!

Besides the stained glass or etched glass windows (each either with or without illumination), we also offer a deeply etched plastic window bearing a design that is illuminated by hidden LEDs (light emitting diodes). The glow of the etched pattern is subtle during the day, but beautifully luminous at night. Almost any color can be used for illumination (white, blue, red, green, yellow, orange, amber). Furthermore, the illumination can be static (the colors stay the same) or programmable (the colors are programmed to change either automatically or in response to an external trigger). For example, if your window showed the sun, it could shine bright yellow during the day, then emit an orange-amber color to simulate a lovely sunset. Or if a stream or lake is shown, programmable illumination can simulate waves.

This 33"-wide door was made for another customer. The carved trees are very similar to the design shown above, but we can carve many other designs (a deer, moose, bear, dog, cat, bird, cabin, sailboat, sun, snowmobile, skis, a maple leaf, etc.) into the door near the window. Other window sizes and shapes (round, square, rectangular, triangular, hexagonal, octagonal, etc.) are available in addition to the oval window shown. While most customers think that knotty pine doors (shown) are the most beautiful way to accent a log home, we can make doors using virtually any other type of wood. Satin, gloss, and semi-gloss finishes are available. We can make doors of any width and height for your home, garage, or shed. Custom brass, copper, or wrought iron door hardware is available.

We spend hours hand-selecting the best and most beautiful boards from which the doors are made, and we usually go through a hundred or more boards just to find one that meets our standards and the tastes of our customers. Therefore, if you have a preference (more knots or less knots, more heartwood [the darker streaks] or less heartwood), we can accommodate your wishes. You won't find such attention to detail in any mass-produced door.
